FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities in Fresno County are looking for a man who bolted from a courtroom after a witness identified him as a possible robbery suspect.
The Fresno Bee reports that during a preliminary hearing on a home invasion case, a female witness on the stand pointed to a man who was watching Friday's proceedings and said he stole her television.
The man shouted an obscenity and ran from the courtroom.
Fresno Police spokesman Jaime Rios says a sheriff's bailiff was unable to pursue the man because he was watching two suspects.
A Fresno police officer also at the hearing gave chase, but could not catch the man who got away.
Rios says that police have a pretty good idea who the man is. His name has not been released.
