SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - San Francisco police have cited a 65-year-old man for allegedly vandalizing trees in Golden Gate Park.
The San Francisco Chronicle says Ken Frisch of San Francisco was cited for malicious destruction of park property and other crimes on Thursday. Officer Tracy Turner says officers saw him damaging trees in the park.
Since September, vandals have snapped the tops off of more than 200 recently planted trees.
Officer Tracy Turner says police don't know whether Frisch was responsible for the previous vandalism.
Recreation and Park Department spokesman Elton Pon says Frisch has been reported harassing city gardeners in the past.
Frisch could not immediately be reached for comment by The Associated Press Friday morning. He had no public telephone listing in San Francisco.
