LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) - Prosecutors say they've charged a 27-year-old man with throwing a Molotov cocktail at a man and setting him on fire in Long Beach.
Deputy District Attorney Jodi Castano said Thursday Jacob Timothy Lagarde faces a charge of attempted murder and five other felonies.
The complaint says Lagarde has had four prior felony convictions, including robbery, grand theft and drug offences - all crimes committed since 2003.
Lagarde is accused of throwing the lit Molotov cocktail at a 54-year-old man on Friday, shortly before 7 p.m. The man suffered burns to his hands, face and below the waist.
If convicted of attempted murder, Lagarde faces a sentence of life in prison without parole.
