EL MONTE, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy has been shot and wounded in El Monte.
Sheriff's Capt. Mike Parker says the shooting happened just before 9 a.m. Sunday in the area of Durfee Avenue and Peck Road.
Parker says the deputy's condition is not known.
Details surrounding the shooting were not immediately available.
The Peck Road off ramp to the westbound 60 Freeway has been shut down.
