INDUSTRY, Calif. (AP) - Los Angeles County Sheriff's officials say an 8-month-old boy has drowned after he and his young siblings were left unattended in the bathtub.
A Sheriff's Department statement says the children's 25-year-old mother left them in the bathtub for ten to 15 minutes Friday morning in the family's home in the unincorporated Valinda area near the city of Industry.
When she returned, the mother found the infant face down in the water and not breathing.
The baby was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
His 1-year-old sister and 2-year-old brother were taken to child protective custody pending an investigation.
