HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (AP) - A Huntington Beach police officer has shot and killed a man armed with a gun during a weekend confrontation.
The Orange County Register (http://bit.ly/11FryfP ) says 26-year-old Eric Marquez of Orange died at the scene Saturday morning.

Lt. Mitch O'Brien says the officer chased one man, wounded him during a confrontation and then shot him again several more times during a second confrontation.
O'Brien says a handgun was recovered from Marquez. Authorities haven't confirmed whether he fired at the officer, who's a nine-year veteran.
