LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police are investigating the discovery of a skull and the skeletal remains of a human torso by hikers in Pacific Palisades.
City News Service reports a pair of hikers found the skull Sunday on a trail in Los Liones Canyon. Police uncovered the other bones about 20 feet away.
The site is about a quarter mile north of Sunset Boulevard, just east of Pacific Coast Highway.
It's unclear how long the remains had been there.
An autopsy will be conducted to try to determine the person's identity and cause of death.
Police are asking anyone with information to call West Bureau homicide detectives.
