LOS ANGELES (AP) - A homeless man suspected of raping a woman in the back of a Los Angeles County bus has pleaded no contest to sexual battery and indecent public exposure.
Twenty-one-year-old Kerry Trotter entered the plea Wednesday.
Prosecutors say Trotter, a recently released parolee, attacked an 18-year-old developmentally disabled woman in the back of a Metro bus in 2012.
The Los Angeles Times says the 10-minute attack went unnoticed by the driver and several passengers as the bus made two stops on its way to Culver City.
Authorities say the victim - who had the mental capacity of a 10-year-old - didn't yell or scream because she was shocked and feared for her life. She only told the driver after Trotter left the bus.
