LOS ANGELES (AP) - Police on Saturday arrested two people in connection with a deadly shooting near a party bus in Hollywood that left one man dead and another man injured.
The shooting occurred Friday shortly before midnight when the chartered bus carrying about 50 people made a bathroom stop in front of a strip mall on Sunset Boulevard.
A fight broke out nearby and two people, both men in their 20s, were struck by bullets, police told KABC-TV. One was pronounced dead at an area hospital, and the other was listed in critical condition.
Authorities told the television station that they believe the shooting was gang-related.
Los Angeles Police Department Capt. Peter Zarconi told the television station that two people were arrested Saturday but police have not determined whether they had been passengers.
"It's not clear if the fight was among occupants, all of whom were on the bus, or if it was between the occupants on the bus and passersby," Zarconi said.
According to KABC-TV, investigators were looking at surveillance footage from inside the bus and from businesses to determine what happened.
Witnesses told the television station that when gunfire rang out, things turned chaotic.
"It was just crazy. I mean, people running everywhere," said John Wilson, a witness.
