ALTADENA, Calif. (AP) - A 17-year-old girl has died and an 18-year-old man has been injured after falling about 200 feet while hiking in the Angeles National Forest near Los Angeles.

Authorities say the two were among four people hiking in Eaton Canyon Friday when they all slipped from a cliff to a rocky base below.

Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Brian Fitch told the Pasadena Star-News the girl, from Alhambra, sustained head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The injured man, also from Alhambra, was airlifted to a hospital.
