LOS ANGELES (AP) - Southern California authorities are chasing a sport utility vehicle with suspects wanted for a bank heist.
In a bizarre scene followed by news helicopters, money has been thrown from the vehicle as it wends its way through South Los Angeles and people have been running into streets as it passes by.
Sheriff's Capt. Mike Parker tells KCAL-TV that it began with four men committing an armed robbery at midmorning Wednesday in the Santa Clarita Valley in northern Los Angeles County.
The robbers fled south and en route two of the robbers bailed out of the vehicle in the Sylmar area of the San Fernando Valley.
The pursuit took freeways to Pasadena and then downtown Los Angeles, where the vehicle exited a freeway and began an erratic route through neighborhoods.
