FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Police in Fresno say a 3-year-old boy was seriously wounded during a gang-related drive-by shooting.
The boy was in the living room of a home around 3 p.m. Thursday when the shooting began. Sgt. Mike Smith tells the Fresno Bee the child was shot in the upper leg. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in serious condition, but was expected to survive.
Police found at least six shell casings at the scene. Smith says the home was the site of another shooting earlier in the week that left a 20-year-old gang member with a chest wound. The gang member was at home on Thursday when the latest shooting occurred.
