FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a Fresno woman was killed and her two young children suffered major injuries when their car was broadsided in Madera County.
The crash occurred on a rural road on Sunday night. The California Highway Patrol says the victims were riding in a Honda when they were hit by a Cadillac driver who failed to stop at a stop sign.
The Honda overturned, and the 22-year-old woman, who has not been identified, was ejected from the vehicle.
She was apparently not wearing a seatbelt.
The woman's children, one-month-old Manuel Rocha III and an unidentified 2-year-old girl, suffered major injuries.
Three other people in the Honda and the Cadillac's driver - identified as 32-year-old George Gonzalez, Jr. of Fresno - suffered moderate injuries.
The CHP says alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
