FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Police have arrested a man who allegedly broke through the front window of a Fresno home and bit off the homeowner's finger.
The Fresno Bee reports that investigators think the 41-year-old man was high on a large amount of drugs when he became violent and started kicking in doors early Friday.
Officers say he dove through the window at the home of the person whose finger he subsequently bit off, then fled to the backyard, breaking furniture and screaming about a devil in his head.
The Bee says the officers retrieved the amputated finger after the suspect was cornered by a police dog and arrested.
The biting victim was in stable condition at a local hospital, although it could not be learned if his finger was reattached.
Neither man's name was released.
