OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Police are searching for suspects following a shooting in broad daylight in East Oakland that injured four people, including three children.
Officer Johnna Watson says the incident occurred Sunday afternoon when a teenager, a woman and her two children, ages 8 and 12, were shot in the North Stonehurst neighborhood.
All four victims were taken to local hospitals after suffering nonfatal gunshot wounds.
Police say a 44-year-old mother and her two young daughters were inadvertently struck by gunfire while outside their home.
Police say the intended target was a 17-year-old boy who was also struck in the leg.
Police were investigating a possible motive as no arrests have been made.
