LODI, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a multicar crash in Northern California has left five people dead, including a child, a pregnant woman and her unborn baby.
Police say up to a dozen people were also injured in the crash at a busy intersection at about 5:21 p.m. Tuesday in Lodi.
The Lodi News-Sentinel reports that five vehicles were involved, and the intersection remained closed several hours after the accident.

Police are still investigating how the collision occurred, but witnesses reported seeing an SUV involved in the crash speeding with the driver on a cellphone.
Lodi, a city of more than 60,000 people, is about 35 miles south of Sacramento.
