SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - A shopkeeper at San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf, a popular tourist destination, will spend the rest of his life behind bars for fatally shooting two rival merchants.

San Francisco District Attorney George Gascon says 59-year-old Hong Ri Wu of San Francisco was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Wednesday.

Wu was convicted in April on two counts of first-degree murder for shooting and killing fellow shopkeepers Qiong Han Chu and Feng Ping Ou after walking inside their souvenir shop on Jan. 30, 2011.

Prosecutors say Wu killed Chu and Ou because he resented them for selling the same knockoff purses that he was also trying to sell at his store.
