CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. (AP) - Authorities have made an arrest in the slaying of a woman who was brutally beaten before her Castro Valley home was set on fire. Fifty-eight-year-old Barbara Latiolais' body was found inside the burning home last week. Authorities have not released the suspect's name.
They were expected to provide more details at a Friday morning news conference. Alameda County Sheriff's officials have said there were valuables missing from the home, and Latiolais' Volvo station wagon was gone. Authorities had released a description of a man seen leaving the car. It was found several hours after the fire.
