SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (AP) - The family of a 23-year-old man who disappeared on the morning of Christmas Eve after police say he jumped into a Marin County creek to evade a sobriety test is offering a $5,000 reward for help in finding him.

The Marin Independent Journal reports the family of Anthony "Tony" Donelson announced the reward in an email to the newspaper.

In the email, the newspaper says Donelson's sister, Angelica, sent a flier offering the reward and asking for help from the public.

Ross Police Chief Erik Masterson said Donelson bolted from his car when it was stopped.

Officers saw him climb a nearby fence and jump into Corte Madera Creek, which was swollen from recent storms.

Using flashlights, officers followed Donelson as he swam in the creek, but eventually lost sight of him.
