SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Two sheriff's deputies and a police officer are recovering after suffering injuries during a high-speed chase and crash in Sacramento.

Sacramento County Sheriff's Sgt. Lisa Bowman says the deputies stopped a Dodge Charger with two known gang members around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday. The suspects were being sought for questioning in a homicide.

As a deputy approached the vehicle, Bowman says the driver, 23-year-old Nina Tran, backed up and attempted to run him over. During the ensuing six-minute pursuit, Tran and the other suspect, 23-year-old Marcus Richardson, allegedly threw a bag of heroin out the window.

The chase ended when the suspects' vehicle slammed into a sheriff's patrol car. Two deputies and a Citrus Heights police officer were injured.

KCRA-TV reports ( that two of the three were later released from the hospital.
