Copper Theft Leaves 22,000 Without Power

MENIFEE, Calif. (AP) - Copper thieves left 22,000 customers in the dark in Riverside County.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise says the theft and vandalism at a Southern California Edison substation knocked out power Wednesday afternoon to customers in Menifee, Perris and Canyon Lake.

Edison says the outage lasted about two hours.
