SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - The Santa Ana Unified School District says it will investigate after a cellphone video showed a policeman putting a 14-year-old boy in a headlock during an arrest.
The boy tells the Orange County Register that he was going to vandalize a table at a park Tuesday when the school officer confronted him.
The boy says he tried to squirm away and wound up on the ground with the officer's arm around his neck. The teen says he bit the officer's arm because he was being choked.
The video shows the policeman on top of the boy, telling him to stop fighting, as the teen screams and pleads for help. A witness tells the officer to calm down.
The boy was arrested on suspicion of tagging, resisting arrest and assault.
