SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - The FBI says a California man has been arrested on an indictment alleging he was attempting to provide material support to al-Qaida.
An FBI statement says 24-year-old Sinh Vinh Ngo Nguyen of Garden Grove was arrested Friday morning while waiting to board a bus to Mexico.
The FBI says Nguyen, a U.S. citizen, was also indicted on a charge of making false statements in an application for a passport to facilitate an act of international terrorism.
The indictment does not add any details on the allegedly intended act of terrorism.
The FBI statement adds that investigators do not believe Nguyen was traveling with others, nor are they aware of a continuing threat to the public.
