SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) - California State University, San Bernardino police shot and killed a student during a fight in an off-campus dorm.
San Bernardino police Lt. Paul Williams tells KABC-TV the campus police officers went to the dorm Saturday evening after receiving reports of a disturbance.
He said when the officers confronted the male student in the dorm's hallway, a fight erupted and that the officers fired their weapons when they feared for their safety.
Williams said one officer was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The San Bernardino Police department was investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting.
