TRUCKEE, CA - California Highway Patrol officers in the Truckee area have seized more than 240 pounds of marijuana so far in November.
According to the CHP, officers have been encouraged to be vigilant for activity that might indicate crimes more serious than traffic citations while pulling people over. Since November 1, officers have made arrests for various weapons violations, outstanding warrants and drug violations. That has included the seizure of more than 240 pounds of marijuana, two pounds of methamphetamine, $17,650 dollars in suspected drug money, hundreds of doses of illegally obtained prescription medications and several loaded weapons.
CHP officers will be doing maximum enforcement through the Thanksgiving weekend, with every available officer on the roads dealing with heavy travel patterns.
