GOLETA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the death of a young woman whose body was found in the water at a popular surfing spot near the University of California, Santa Barbara.
The Sheriff's Department says the body was spotted Saturday morning by a jogger at the Campus Point surf break.
The woman, described as college age, was not carrying identification.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Kelly Hoover says the woman has been identified, but her name won't be released until her family has been notified.
It wasn't immediately known whether foul play was involved or if the death was accidental. Hoover declined to release details of the investigation.
