SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (AP) - Sheriff's deputies in California have discovered a body southwest of Lake Tahoe that could be that of a missing Reno woman.
The Lake Tahoe News reports an autopsy is pending to establish the cause of death and determine whether it is 66-year-old Sheri Renstrom.
Renstrom was at her Reno home when she last was heard from on April 26 in a telephone conversation with someone.
El Dorado County sheriff's deputy Greg Almos says the fully clothed body was found in a wooded area in Strawberry along U.S. Highway 50 between Placerville and South Lake Tahoe. He says they don't know how she died but does not appear to be the victim of foul play
Renstrom's vehicle was seen in Strawberry on May 1, but deputies weren't notified until Friday.
