TRUCKEE, Calif. (AP) - Truckee police say two children had minor injuries after a boat and a jet ski nearly crashed on Donner Lake.
Investigators say the incident happened a little after noon on Sunday, when a jet ski pulling an inner tube crossed the path of a boat pulling a skier.
Police say the boat ran over the tow line of the jet ski, which threw a 7-year-old and an 8-year-old off the inner tube.
Authorities say the children were wearing life jackets and had only minor injuries, but one of the children was airlifted to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno as a precaution.
Truckee police say Donner Lake has a rule requiring boats that are towing people to travel in a counterclockwise direction to avoid collisions.
