SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - The California Highway Patrol says all southbound lanes of Interstate 5 north of Sacramento are closed after two big rigs collided, spilling 40 gallons of diesel fuel and causing minor injuries.
The CHP says the crash near Woodland was reported at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, and I-5 lanes are expected to be closed until at least 10 p.m.
The crash occurred over the Elkhorn Causeway, a raised road that crosses a flood bypass in the Sacramento Valley.
The CHP says most of the spilled diesel was contained before it reached the flood bypass but environmental officials have been alerted.
