BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) - A Berkeley man is in custody after police say he stabbed two people, barricaded himself inside a home and set it on fire.
Police told The San Francisco Chronicle that after officers arrived at the home around 4 p.m. Tuesday, a man identified as Victor Lamb barricaded himself inside the home and set it on fire with a can of lighter fluid.
Police say the 40-year-old Lamb was arrested when he tried to escape police by running out the back door.
Officer Stephanie Polizziani, a police spokeswoman, told the newspaper the two people stabbed - a 70-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man - suffered non-life-threatening wounds.
Investigators have not said what relationship there was, if any, between Lamb and the two people stabbed but said Lamb was being held on suspicion of domestic violence, attempted murder, arson and other charges.
