Three Teens Killed When Car Hits Tree In Rancho Mirage

Three teenagers were killed when their car slammed into a tree in Rancho Mirage yesterday.

Driver Tabitha Lyndsay Loftis of Palm Desert and passengers Stefan Bartek Snyder-Plati and Stephano Massotti of Rancho Mirage died in the crash yesterday afternoon.

All three were 17-year-old students at Marywood-Palm Valley High
School.

Riverside County sheriff's officials say front seat passenger Mazzotti was the only teen wearing a seat belt.

It isn't clear what led to crash on Morningside Drive and if speed was a factor.

No other vehicles were involved.

Classes at Marywood-Palm Valley High School have been canceled today, but counselors are available at the campus.
