Detectives From Berkeley And Mountain View Investigating Separate Murders

Detectives from two Bay Area cities that usually don't see much in the way of violent crime are investigating murders this morning.

Police in Mountain View are investigating the first murder in that city since 2005.

A police spokesman says a 24-year-old man died in Stanford Hospital yesterday after being shot several times.

No arrests have been made yet, but police say they've checking out leads from tipsters.

In Berkeley, police are investigating the city's third and fourth murders of the year after two people were killed in separate incidents Saturday.

Last year there were four murders in Berkeley in 2006.
