Remains Of Missing Grand Junction Native Found In California

The search for a missing Grand Junction, Colorado native has ended, with the discovery of his remains near a California lake.

A hiker located the skeletal remains of 21-year-old Landon Orcutt while walking a dog last Thursday.

The remains were found near Big Bear Lake in San Bernardino County.

Orcutt was a religious studies student at Vanguard University in
Southern California.

He was last seen alive in July 2006 in Santa Ana, California.

Authorities found a note during the investigation indicating Orcutt planned to end his life, but a subsequent search only turned up his abandoned car.

An autopsy is scheduled this week.

Services for Orcutt will be held in Grand Junction at a later date.
