Firefighters Battling Henry Coe State Park Fire Expect Containment Today

Firefighters battling a wildfire in Henry Coe State Park expect to have the blaze contained sometime today.

Fire officials had expected to be able to say last night they had the fire contained, but crews still had to extend fire lines.

The blaze has burned nearly 48,000 acres.

Meanwhile, shifting winds have been sending smoke from a remote Sierra Nevada forest fire back toward the San Francisco Bay area.

The wildfire being called the Moonlight Fire burning in Plumas County has burned more than 62,000 acres.

That fire is 15 percent contained.
