Firefighters say a brush fire that started yesterday in Henry Coe State Park is spreading fast.
The blaze has forced rangers to evacuate hikers and campers.
Firefighters say the flames are now covering more than seven-thousand acres.
The fire is being fanned by hot, dry winds, and is only about 10 percent contained despite the efforts of more than 700 firefighters.
Some cabins in the park are being threatened by the flames, but the only structure destroyed so far is an outbuilding.
Fire officials are investigating the cause of the flames.
