Missing Sonoma State Student's Body Found Off Highway

Authorities have found the body of a 22-year-old Sonoma State student, a day after she was first reported missing.

It appears that Lauren Rutz's car veered off Highway 101.

A search helicopter found the wreckage of her 1997 Toyota RAV-Four in a ditch off the highway south of Asti.

Rutz was last heard from around 2:45 a-m yesterday when she spoke to her mother via cell phone.

She was believed to be traveling from the Bay Area to Kelseyville in Lake County.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
