A Hollister mother was sentenced to 14 years in prison for a drunken driving crash that killed her 4-year-old daughter.
Antoinette Soliz, 26, pleaded guilty in June to vehicular homicide, causing great bodily injury while driving drunk, six counts of child abuse and driving on a suspended license.
Soliz was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Tahoe that struck a center divider on Highway 1 and flipped.
During this week's Superior Court sentencing hearing, Soliz expressed remorse for the Jan. 29 crash near Aptos. The woman's blood alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit to drive.
Her daughter Jasmine Nicole Arroyo was killed and seven others, including her two sons, were injured in the crash.
"There's no excuse for what happened that night. My Jasmine is not replaceable," Soliz told the judge. "All I can say, your honor, is I'm not going to stand here and beg for anything because I can't even live with myself."
