A Los Angeles police detective riding a motorcycle to a movie set where he was providing security was killed this morning in a multi-car accident on the Hollywood Freeway.
Authorities say Detective George Selleh was trying to avoid a disabled car that had hit the center divider when he was thrown from the bike at about 3:30 a-m.
CHP spokesman Alex Delgadillo says at least 10 other drivers also swerved to miss the car and became involved in the accident.
The entire southbound side of the freeway remains closed.
Delgadillo says the 52-year-old Selleh died at the scene.
He was a 29-year veteran of the department and he leaves behind a wife and two daughters.
There were no other injuries, but one woman was taken to a local
hospital as a precaution.
