Slovenian Charged In Identity Theft Scheme

Prosecutors have charged a Slovenian man with running a sophisticated identity theft operation to buy himself video cameras and video game equipment with other people's credit cards.

34-year-old Ales Obrstar pleaded not guilty yesterday to charges
including commercial burglary, identity theft and receiving stolen
property.

Authorities in Florida tipped off San Rafael police last week that Obrstar was suspected in a credit card fraud case involving a local resident's account.

Obrstar is being held in Marin County Jail. He's scheduled to appear in court in August.
