MARIN CITY, CA (AP) - Police say a 13-year-old boy is recovering in the hospital after being nearly beaten to death with a baseball bat by another teenager in Marin City.
Marin County Sheriff's detectives say the 13-year-old who struck the other boy was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder yesterday.
Investigators say both boys were hurt during the early morning fight. But one was hit several times on his head and stomach with a baseball bat and had to be flown by helicopter to a hospital.
Police say his injuries were life threatening.
It's unclear if any charges will be filed against the boy in the hospital. Both teenagers had their identities withheld because they are minors.
