TRACY, Calif. (AP) - Relatives of a woman jailed on suspicion of killing a Northern California girl say the accusations against her do not sound like the person they know.
A man who would only describe himself as a member of Melissa Huckaby's family read a statement to reporters Sunday morning outside the mobile home park where 8-year-old Sandra Cantu was last seen.
He says the charges against the 28-year-old Tracy resident were
"completely out of character."
The man was joined by several other relatives, including Huckaby's grandfather, Clifford Lawless, who is pastor of the nearby church searched by authorities after Cantu's body was discovered last Monday.
