911 Tapes Released from Santa Clara Murder Suicide

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) - Police have released 911 recordings
that depict a dramatic scene where a Yahoo engineer gunned down his
family in an apparent murder suicide that left six dead.

In the recordings released Friday by Santa Clara police, the voice of a neighbor who rushed to aid the engineer's wife, Abha Appu, can be heard pleading with the wounded woman to stay alive.

The recordings stem from a March 29 incident in which police say 42-year-old Devan Kalathat killed his two children, three other relatives and left his wife in critical condition.

The neighbor, who requested anonymity, can be heard repeating
the wounded Appu's words to an emergency operator: "She said her
husband shot everybody."
