TRACY, Calif. (AP) - Tracy police have served more than 15 search warrants in their investigation into an 8-year-old girl's disappearance and death.
At a news conference Wednesday, Sgt. Tony Sheneman said investigators have interviewed Sandra Cantu's neighbors and collected evidence from a local church and at least one unit at the mobile home park where she lived.
He said everyone's been cooperative and police, so far, have no suspects. Sheneman said police do not want to rush to judgment while conducting their investigation. All the warrants have been sealed.
Sandra was last seen March 27. A massive search ended Monday when her body was found in a suitcase dumped in a pond.
Sheneman said police have been in touch with Sandra's family throughout the investigation and they are "devastated."
