WESTMINSTER, Calif. (AP) - A Fountain Valley mother of three has
been charged with hiring her lover and his friend to kill her
husband, who survived a knife attack that left his skull fractured
and his fingers severed.
Mary Sharpski was charged Tuesday in Orange County Superior
Court with attempted murder, conspiracy and mayhem.
Police suspect she was having an affair with Michael Shores, who
allegedly hired Antonio Ortega to kill the husband.
Police had identified Ortega as a butcher, but his employer,
Stater Bros., says he was a meat wrapper at its Huntington Beach
Shores and Ortega are also charged with attempted murder for the
attack on Frank Sharpski III on March 3.
Mary Sharpski is in jail on $1 million bail and her arraignment
is scheduled for April 17.
