SAN DIEGO (AP) - A former San Diego elementary school teacher has pleaded not guilty to having a sexual relationship with a boy she met when he was in her fifth-grade class.
Prosecutors said Thursday that Adrienne Feistel was charged and entered pleas Wednesday in Superior Court.
Court documents show the 35-year-old Feistel had befriended the boy's family when he was in her class and had moved into their home for several months. She allegedly began having a sexual relationship with him beginning in August 2006, when he was 13, continuing until August 2008.
Feistel resigned about a month after the alleged sexual contact began.
Police say the boy told his mother about his relationship with the teacher last August when police responded to a disturbance at the boy's home.
