OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Officials are warning drivers that traffic will be heavy tomorrow throughout the East Bay during funeral processions for the slain Oakland police officers.
Thousands are expected to attend the 11 a.m. funeral at Oracle Arena.
Law enforcement are coming from around the country and Canada to honor the four men who authorities say were gunned down last weekend by a parolee evading a traffic stop.
Before the funeral, the caskets will travel from each officer's hometown -- Oakland, Danville, Castro Valley and Tracy. Officials say that's expected to affect traffic on Interstates 880, 980, 680 and 580, as well as State Route 238, for most of the day.
Officials are encouraging funeral attendees and commuters to take BART, which will run longer trains to the arena.
