Tipster's Fax Lead LA Police to Body in Car Trunk

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police have found a dead woman in
the trunk of a car while checking out a fax sent to a television news station detailing the body's whereabouts.

Police spokeswoman April Harding says officers discovered the body Saturday in a Valley Village neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley. She says the fax mentioned a homicide that occurred last month and indicated where the body could be found.

It was not immediately clear who sent the fax.

An employee at KTLA-TV says the fax was sent to the newsroom earlier in the day. She declined to describe its content, saying police were holding it as evidence.
