STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) - Court officials say a California judge
is recovering from a stabbing attack by a murder suspect in her
courtroom and is expected back at work soon.
A Lodi police detective fatally shot 29-year-old David Paradiso
after he left the witness stand and lunged at San Joaquin County
Superior Court Judge Cinda Fox with a handcrafted 6-inch metal
spike on Wednesday.
The attack happened while bailiffs were removing Paradiso's
mother and brother from the Stockton courtroom for causing a

hospital after getting stitches for stab wounds on her neck and
left forearm. She is expected back on the job soon.
