LOS ANGELES (AP) - If you live in Los Angeles and want to gripe
about the government, there's a mayor who wants to hear from you -
Gavin Newsom of San Francisco.
Newsom is sending invitations to a public forum next month that
will be held on the doorstep of his potential rival in the next
governor's race, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
The event in Santa Monica on March 19 is being billed as a "Los
Angeles Area Conversation about California's Future."
The two Democrats are on a long list of possible candidates for
the 2010 contest.
It will be the San Francisco mayor's second trip to the Los
Angeles area in less than a month after he attended a weekend forum
of 2010 hopefuls in Northridge.
A Villaraigosa spokesman did not immediately return a phone
message from The Associated Press seeking comment.
