SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) - A drunken driver has been sentenced to four years in prison for a California central coast crash that killed two passengers riding in his car.

The Saturn driven by 22-year-old Evan Alexander Green flipped on an Avila Beach roadway in June 2011, killing 21-year-old Marcus Alex Nelson of Castro Valley and 21-year-old Aaron Beaver of Eureka.

The California Highway Patrol says the Chico State University student had a blood-alcohol level three times the legal driving limit and he was driving without a license.

The San Luis Obispo County Tribune says Green was sentenced on Monday after pleading no contest to multiple charges, including two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

During sentencing, Green apologized and told the court he will suffer for the rest of his life.
